Today is the first day after I leave the company and Penang. It feels weird waking up an knowing that I won't go back to have to go back to Penang anymore, which has been my schedule for the last 12 years. Feel a bit disconcerted and unfamiliar. But, at the same time, I'm looking forward to his new life. I no longer need to travel to and fro to Penang every 2 weeks, which is tiring. I have taken long leave before. But, the feeling is different because at that time, I know I will still be going back at the end of the week. But, this time not. But, I'm back to home town, back to family, back to where I can from. Is this an old life or new life. Is it back to square one?
It also felt weird when I left the office yesterday, the company I've been with for 12 years. I don't miss it the few weeks prior to my leaving. But, the last few days, I started to feel it. Today, I really feel it. I left my Penang friends and life behind liao. But, never mind. I can still visit them.
What will happen in the new company? I'm really anxious to find out.

New Year Resolution
New year resolutions:
- not afraid of change, accept change as inevitable and a process of growing and learning.
- willing to let go something so to have place for new thing (very very hard).

Divergent
Reading Divergent now by Veronica Roth now.
The book's concept is interesting - seperating people in different group base on their aptitude. Reminds me of Harry Potter's hat sorting.
In the book, there's 5 factions - Erudite, Abnegation, Candor, Dauntless, Amity.
But, there's also a group of people called Divergent that have aptitude for more than one virtue. It's supposed to be very rare. But, I find it illogical. I think Divergent should be the majority since most people have more than one virtues/flaws/inclination/traits. No one is so straight-forward. I hope the author will show this later.
In the novel, Tris's aptutide test showed her to be a Divergent because she has aptitude for Abnegation, Dauntless and Erudite. She was shocked when her brother Caleb chose to join Erudite when he has been selfless throughout his life and it seems to come naturally to him. Tris was bitter that her brother pretended all these years. I tend to disagree. Caleb can be both smart and selfless. He can be Divergent too, or, he has aptitude to be selfless, but, his aptitude for wisdom/thirst for knowlege is greater. This doesn't mean he pretended all these while.
One thing I wonder. During the Choosing Ceremony, can a person chose a faction that he/she has no aptitude for? Say, if someone is from Erudite and have no aptitude for Amity. But, he likes the life of the Amity faction with everyone being so nice and happy and peaceful. Can he choose Amity?
