Today I watch 'Love You You'
Today, I watch 'Love You You'. There were many crying scenes, many sad scene. The most memorable, that affected me much was the scene of Angelababy crying on the beach and her putting the past hurt behind her. Same like yesterday, I could not feel, the heart is blank. But, my understanding is different from yesterday. Yesterday, I just worried that I lost the feeling. But, today, I understand that I cannot feel, cannot tear up is because I was protecting myself somehow. I have done such crying before and maybe I don't want to go back there? Somehow, not letting the same feeling comes?
No matter what, I need healing. Either to find back my feeling or to let it come out. But, the part where she leave her hurt behind, I can feel. It's a hopeful movie, simplistic, but, hopeful. That island scene, still the most etch in my heart.

Best scene in You Only Live Twice
Best scene in 'You Only Live Twice', the swimming scene. Best moment is the swimming scene, when Seung Chan Yu's arch enemy, Nip Man Fung, began to cheer for him. That's the best moment. Then, all the viewers in HK cheering for him, cheering for his spirit.
Someone who is phobia of water and doesn't know how to swim trying to his hardest to swim to the other end. Seeing him falling into the water and coming up again. Such a touching and uplifting scene.

Percy Jackson book 2
Read until Annabeth meet Tyson and Tyson joined the Half-Blood camp.
Why does Annabeth look on Tyson with disgust? Why all the demi-gods look down on Tyson. Even Percy, who was he only one who befriende Tyson and protected Tyson when they were in school felt embarressed that Tyson is his half-brother. I thought Annabeth and Percy would be better than to look down on Tyson who although is a monster is still kind-hearted. What more, Annabeth allow Tyson to get into Half-Blood camp to save Percy, but, after that still disgusted with him. What the heck is that? How ungrateful. She said she has no choice, she has to, to save Percy. Like she was so 'wai wat'. It's like she just want to use him when in need but can't stand him when she doesn't need him anymore. As for Percy, I'm more sympathetic. He know he really tried. He did feel embarress, but, he still try to treat Tyson nicely. At least, rationally, he knows Tyson is inn0cent. But, I still wonder why can't Percy see Tyson as before. Before he knew Tyson is a Cyclops. I also feel angry and feel sad for the Cyclops when Annabeth said Cyclops are mistake and no one want them. They are often abandoned. Annabeth didn't say it in a sorry way either. I guess, I think too highly of Annabeth. She's just like many normal people. Filled with prejudice.

I hope this book's intention is still show the badness of prejudice and racsim. To teach people to judge someone by his individual and not which group he belongs to.

Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief
I purposely read the book first before watching the movie. Finally finished reading 2 days ago. Now watching the movie.
The take out of alot of plot which I agree is neccessary to fit into the a 2 hour movie and I don't mind it since they are not crucial. It makes the pace faster.
But, there are a fewo plot changes I didn't like.
1) There is a son of Hades in the Half Blood Camp. He's not supposed to be in Half Blood Camp because Hades did not get along with the other gods and he doesn't have a cabin in Half Blood Camp. This is crucial because it will be important in future book where the children of Hades did show up. Also, son of Hades in Half Blood Camp made Percy less special. Percy is supposed to be special and all powerful because he's a son of Poseidon, one of the 3 most powerful gods. If son of Hades is also there, it made him less special. And the son of Hades here look like a bit character only.
2) The Fury already revealed what she was looking for from the begining. But, it's different from the book. And I don't get why the Fury said 'my lightning bolt'. The lightning bolt is not hers and she is also not under the command of Zeus who owns the missing lightning bolt.
3) I so do not like Percy get attracted to Ananbeth the moment he saw he. So damn typical of Hollywood movie. I wish it was like in the book where they grow closer slowly.
4) The story seem to be missing another major plot. All 3 gods made a pact to not have anymore children after WW2 because their children are very powerful and were the one who caused WW2. In the book, the Fury was assumed to be sent by Hades to kill Percy because Poseidon broke the promise.
I expect the movie to start like the book, with Percy first in school. But, they didn't. The started with Zeus and Poseidon talking.
On the characters. The movie increase the ages of the characters. In the book, the main characters are around 12. But, here they look like 16. I guess it better to attract teenage audiences. Chiron is very different from what I imagine. I imagine chiron to be shorter, plumper, and nore benelovent professor like. But, the movie Chiron is so much hotter and charismatic. Haha, I like this Chiron look.
Gabe also look way better than the book's Gabe. Honestly, I think they should find another actor to play Gabe. A fatter, more slobbish disgusting looking man. Gabe is supposed to be very disgusting and hate. This actor does couldn't convey this.
The actor if Luke is also a good choice. He looks very trustworthy and you instantly like him. This is important to the story imo.
No comment on the actor and actress who play Percy and Annabeth for now. But, Annabeth already turn me off under no fault of the character or actress. Just the fact that Percy typically fall her on first sight turn me off. But, I may like her when I watch further since I like Annabeth in the book.
The Half Blood Camp seems to be very near to the the home. Eventhough they start at daytime and reach the camp at night, it still feel very short distant. Maybe it's the editing. One scene show them run out of the house, the next scene show them reach Half Blood Camp already. They should have show them driving a bit longer.
The minatour fight scene is not as excited as the book describe.
Lastly, for now, I still feel that the movie is good. Some missing elements (like Grover being faulted for he failure to save Percy's mom and bring Percy to safety) are unavoidable.

I change fast. I think I'm starting to like Annabeth more. Haha, this girl. She said Percy has a big ego. I think her ego is even bigger. But, I like her better now because she said she also has a strong feeling for Percy but she didn't know whether it's positive or negative. The feelings are also influence by their parents she supposed because their parents don't like each other. I guess Percy's feelings to could similar? Influence by the parents? That he look at her not only because of hormone influence?

Ok, the plot change way too much. I really don't know what's going to happen now. Maybe this is a good thing. To make the movie less predictable.
Why did Hades go to the camp and why did he keep demanding for the bolt? If follow the plot of the book, this part does not make sense. In the book, everyone thinks Hades stole the bolt. That's why Percy was given the quest to go to the Underworld to retrieve the bolt. Now, this movie has Hades coming to camp looking for the bolt and the plan now changed to having Percy go to Olympus so he can convince Zeus he didn't steal it. Now, instead of being sent on the quest, the 3 stole away to go to the Underworld themselves.
I wonder how the plot will turn out.
I'm liking Annabeth more now. Show more of the book Annabeth.

Movie is getting more and more exciting. Love the fight with the Hydra. I kinda like that the 3 kids have to look for the pearl themselves and not given to them freely by the nymph. I also love the Lotus Hotel part.
Ok. I really really hate the turn of event. Why did Hollywood has to demonise Hades and make him the bad guy? In the book, Hades is not exactly nice, but, he didn't want war. He just took the bolt from Percy because his own weapon was stolen. Percy found him back his helmet, he send Percy's mom back. I hate hate hate this turn of event.
Update:
And the Pearl thing. That is so different from the book. I much prefer the story follow the book in his choice too.
Oh no. And they totally take away the role of Kronos in the story.

One thing from the book I'm glad that the movie left out is Percy's mom turning Gabe into stone. I always felt disturbed by it. It's just not right especially for a children's book. Good people are not supposed to do this. That's the difference between good people and bad people. Why couldn't Percy's mom just asked for a divorce?
Ok, I was wrong. They did add the part. After the credit. But, they kinda make it the fault of Gabe himself which make it less disturbing. Only less, not totally gone.
Lastly, I just notice that Dionysus is missing from the movie.

One more. I do not like the actress choice for Persephone and her character design. What's with this loud brash black woman that dress like a dominatrix? Hades and her look like an Italian mafia and his woman. Persephone is the daughter for Demeter. The Goddess of harvest. She's supposed to be full of sunshine. That's why Hades likes her and want her as his wife. He want her to brighten up his dreary Underworld. To be Persephone is a gentle, graceful and dignified goddess. Why can't the character designer make her look those goddess in Olympus?

Joyce Cheng in Autocity
I was going to use the Jaynestars' voucher to buy Joyce Cheng's debut album. But, before I made the purchase, I saw the leftlet saying she's coming over to Autocity. So, I decided to wait until she comes and buy the CD on the spot.
This is quite a new experience for me.
Joyce's show was not as crowded as the show of the other stars I have went to in Autocity. The shows starts at 10pm. I went to wait from 9.30pm. I was the very first few, so I get to stand in the very front. Joyce and the crew came late. Maybe they were stuck on the bridge since they came from Gurney. I meant to buy the CD before Joyce came, but, when the CD stall was setup, there were already a crowd. I don't want to lost my place in the very front, so, I couldn't buy the CD. Joyce finally came (which I later found was quite silly). I saw her walk into the tent and she seems quite slim from the side. But, when she went on stage, she's not that slim. She's normal size. She wore those 'song gou' shoes that made her taller that the most (MY FM's Jim). She's plumper than Bernice in person. But, not fat. She's normal in size to me, although plump when compared to other actresses.
The crowd in Autocity were a quiet bunch. The host tried to liven up the atmosphere by asking us to shout and clap. There were claps, but, shouts was a little discouraging. I admit, I was one of those who didn't shout. :P But, the host remain lively.
Joyce, finally came out. The crowd was not very big, but, she still said it's a lot of people and thanked everyone for coming and supporting her. She sang 3 songs and she sang very well live. I wonder if it's mimed because it sounds so flawless. But, I do detected some breathing sound. So, I guess it's live. The show was short. Joyce didn't ask anyone to come up and there were no game sessions. She only chatted with the host and address the crowd from the stage.
I was standing there listening. The lady besides me who I chatted with before suddenly told me that if I buy the CD, I can sit inside the VIP area (her sister found out for her). She asked me to go with her. No wonder those people who didn't look like VIP or reporters can sit there. Why no one told me earlier? Sigh. So, I bought the CD and went to sit in that area. This is the new experience I was talking about. First time I get to sit on a chair in this kinda of fans meet. But, too bad. I just sat for awhile and Joyce finished singing. :(
The album signing was next. Not much people buy. Maybe they are not familiar with her yet and she's singing cantonese songs. So, the queue pretty short. Too bad I don't have a camera with me. Because the line was short, everyone who went up to get the album signed can take pictures with Joyce. Joyce was very accomodating. My turn comes. She signed the album and said thank you. I was not feeling well and know I look haggard. I smiled back, but, I know my smile will be kinda forced. The cameraman also asked us to take a group photo. I don't know where to look since I couldn't smile and not at ease. I hope the picture didn't make it to the newspaper. I will be very embarrassed.
I hope she's not disappointed with the small crowd and the sales of the CD. But, she seems to be in the good spirit. Even in the car, I saw that she's still smiling. And she sits like me in the car. Whenever I sit on the back sit, I like to sit in the middle and lean my body forward. From what I saw throught the front car screen, that's how she's sitting. I think this is the most unguarded star appearance I've seen. Other stars, there will be lots of people covering them and guarding them . But, for Joyce, you can go very near her. Her van was park at the same area I park my car. That's why I can see her. I want to wave at her but felt 'pai seh'.
So, that's my experience going to Joyce concert.

This is the new experience I was talking about. First time I get to sit on a chair in this kinda of fans meet. But, too bad. I just sat for awhile and Joyce finished singing. :(
The album signing was next. Not much people buy. Maybe they are not familiar with her yet and she's singing cantonese songs. So, the queue pretty short. Too bad I don't have a camera with me. Because the line was short, everyone who went up to get the album signed can take pictures with Joyce. Joyce was very accomodating. My turn comes. She signed the album and said thank you. I was not feeling well and know I look haggard. I smiled back, but, I know my smile will be kinda forced. The cameraman also asked us to take a group photo. I don't know where to look since I couldn't smile and not at ease. I hope the picture didn't make it to the newspaper. I will be very embarrassed.
I hope she's not disappointed with the small crowd and the sales of the CD. But, she seems to be in the good spirit. Even in the car, I saw that she's still smiling. And she sits like me in the car. Whenever I sit on the back sit, I like to sit in the middle and lean my body forward. From what I saw throught the front car screen, that's how she's sitting. I think this is the most unguarded star appearance I've seen. Other stars, there will be lots of people covering them and guarding them . But, for Joyce, you can go very near her. Her van was park at the same area I park my car. That's why I can see her. I want to wave at her but felt 'pai seh'.
So, that's my experience going to Joyce concert.

Some thoughts
Mrs.Lim just passed away. My feeling is hard to describe. She was so sunao, do so much service. Give light to people everyday. Why does her life end like this? Sometime, it make me really 'fui sam'. Why? What is the plan of God? Does she meant to suffer even more, but, due to her service, she suffered less, that it was quick?
Such strong faith, such strong believe and still..
R.I.P. Mrs. Lim. Hope Mr.Lim, Samuel and Daniel will find condolence too.

This happen too fast. I'm in shock. She was just diagnose not long ago. I was hoping the herbs can help her. I actually thought she will heal slowly. This is devastating. I remember how you help me and give light to me back then when I have problem. You were kind to me. I never expected this will pain me so much.
Goodbye Mrs.Lim. I'll miss you. Maybe God bless you on the other side.

The Disorganised Virgo
I recently went to a torat class and the conversation veered towards Virgo. The instructor said Virgo is an Earth sign and so they hate change. They like things to be as they are. That's why they have difficulty making decisions. So far so good. But, then, she came to this point.
Virgo people are very organised. They need everything to be in order and need great planning. If you are going to a holiday with them, you will need to give them 3 months notice for them to pack everything.
Haha, this is far from the truth is my case. I'm disorganised to a T. I don't make list, I don't keep account and log books and I don't always put things back to where it is. I just put things wherever it's handy. I also don't care what pen and paper I use as long as it can be used. I never write a diary until 2 years ago and gave up after a few pages. I'm starting to write again but, it's not very frequant.
I also don't plan for long. If going on a holiday, I most probably on start packing the night before. :P
Lastly, I'm bad at time management.

Edward Jones - The boy who stole into Buckingham Palace 3 times
I first read about this boy in a book complication of strange but true stories. One of the stories was about a boy who stole into the Buckingham Palace 3 times. The book didn't say what happened to him after his 2nd conviction. So, I search google for the answers and found a wiki entry of him.

This person is very fascinating. He was obviously intelligent, to be able to steal into Buckingham Palace 4 times (according to wikipedia, one time was undetected), with all the palace guard guarding it. But, his thinking was also abnormal. He didn't think like us normal folks. His fascination and addiction to the Buckingham Palace has no end. He just couldn't get away from the palace. What tied him so much to the palace? The glittery in it? The Queen?
He has a chance to earn a good living, first in the navy, then, in the music hall, but, he rejected both. He chose a life of mischieve. After he was caught loitering in the vicinity of the palace after his last conviction and sent to duty in a warship, he kept on attempting to leave the ship and come back to London. At last, he became a buglar and alcholic, and deported to Australia and became a town crier in Perth. What a life wasted. With such intelligence, he might be able to make it big and become a useful member of society. Even if he didn't make it big, he could have lead a decent life. But, he chose a life of crime. He could do better than a town crier with his intelligence. But, his temperament/personality failed him.
One can see to be sucessful, being smart is not the only criteria. The are also many other personal qualities that are needed. Having the right goal, persistance, discpline, and the will to succeed. Edward Jones actually has a lot of the criterias. He's persistant, and have great will. One thing he didn't have is the right aim/goal. His aim was just going into the Buckingham Palace again and again and again, which didn't benefit his life at all.
I personally think he might have slight autism. One of the characteristic of autism is consistancy and persistant. Like if the person put something one a table and arrange in certain way, the thing will always have to be put there and arrage in that way. He wouldn't rest until it did. Him going to the Buckingham place again and again reminds me of this. He also reminds me of the 'spiderman' who likes to scale tall building despite being arrested again and again.
I guess it's not all bad. If he has chosen to live decently, his name might not be remembered until and got an entry in Oxford Dictionary.

Even though every situation is comprised of millions of bits of information, the human intellect is capable of being aware of little more than a dozen of those bits! Therefore it is not only a waste of time to try to figure your way out of a difficulty; it is demoralising and discouraging to try to do so. Even if you find an answer, it is unlikely that it will be the answer, simply because you are relying on your limited intellect rather than the voice of your heart your intuition to guide you through the labyrinth that problems tend to create. The biggest lie your ego tells you is that you should know what to do in the face of any difficulty. This puts negative stress on you and further interferes with your heart s desire to guide you. Why not just admit that you don t know?
Guidance:
It is not possible for you to see even 1% of all the influences that comprise your present difficulty, so analysing the situation and trying to figure out how and why it happened, and what you should do about it is futile. Instead, accept that you do not know what this is about, but trust that it is part of your purpose and mission in life. Relax in the I don t know. Feel the stress of having to find the solution gradually dissolve into the peace of trust. You will not be in the emptiness long before the light of your True Self joins you there and gives you the guidance regarding what step you could take. At times that step will be enough to take you beyond the problem. Sometimes, however you will take the step and then rest in the I don t know again. In those cases discipline is required, but this is because what awaits you beyond this type of problem is a profoundly life transforming experience. So release all expectations of how long you will have to stay in the unknown and recognise it as the most important classroom in your life. Eventually you will find yourself truly free, because you will be free from everything that you think you know. Only then can you know the TRUTH.

Thoughts from 'What on Earth Happened?'
Nearly finished reading the book 'What on Earth Happened?' After reading the part on how the Western nations destroyed the cultures of other nations, I feel a sense of disgust and irony.
These white people went to Africa, Australia, America etc, drove the original inhabitants from their land, captured them as forced labourers and slaves, destroyed their culture and religion. Some even went so far as to forcefully took the children of aboriginals from their parents as 'ward of the state', put them in orphanages and internment camps, and raised them as agricutural laborers and forbade them to speak any other language other than English. These white conquerers intent to systematically eradicate the aborigins' culture. They plundered the resources from these lands to fatten their own country, to support their rich lifestyle. By the time these colonial nations gain independance, their resourced have been depleted and exhausted, and they are left in an economically disadvantaged state, leaving them to struggle for a living. Now, these middle to upper class whites, who live in an economically superior nation, living in the lap of luxuries and have time to think about spirituality, went back to these aboriginal people, learn their shamanic skills, declare themselves shamans and come back as gurus holding workshops.
What irony.
They were the one who destroyed these cultures and they are the one who now want to learn back these cultures, these sacred and 'superior' knowledge for the advancement of their spirituality.
It's also ironic that when these ex-colony started to embrace modernisation, abandoning their culture, the whites want to preserve them. These group of of people (mostly antropologists I guess) , who has now learn to appreciate heritage and variety in cultures, went to the aboriginal tribes, stayed with them to study their cultures, do documentaries and do preservations work.
What irony.

But, no matter what, I think it's a good thing for them to want to preserve these cultures now, to let people know more about these cultures. But, I hope they don't commercialise it and bastardise it and turn it into another money-making tool (these are usually done by the spiritual gurus type).

These colonisation brought a lot of injustices. Many original inhabitants suffered due to these colonisation, their dignity was stripped. They could the tribe leaders, respected members of their tribe and family. But, was turned into forced laborers and slaves, be a second class citizens in their own land, some treated worse than animals. Such cruelty. (No wonder some blacks still have chips on their shoulders. Their ancestors really suffered greate injustice, cruelty and indignities). But at the same time, these colonisation brought modernisation to these nations. If left untouched and undisturbed, they might still be living the way they live thousands years ago without advancement. So, what is right and wrong? Colonisation, invasion brought a lot of devastation, but, at the same time also allow the spreading of knowledge, which lead to more developement of science. Colonisation and trades brought new animals and plants to a nation and made it more colourful. Countries become multination and multiculture.

Is this all meant to be? Now, the world seems to be facing this dilemma/struggle. At least, from my POV.
Maintanance of culture identity vs globalisation.
Multi-culture multi-religion vs new world order.
I prefer the former.

Assumption
Everyone makes assumption. I agree I made a lot of assumptions, jumping to conclusions quickly. I must improved on this. Need to lot of work on it.
But, why am I the only one at fault? Everyone makes assumptions. As long as you are human, you will make assumption. But, it seems people are allowed to make assumption of me and has biases against me, but, I'm not allowed to do the same in return.
At least, I can see my own fault. But, others just continue pointing their fingers at other and blind to their own fault.
Sigh.
